| Position Description | |
| We seek a Pacific Region Regional Representatives (RR) to ensure the long-term effectiveness of National Wildlife Federation (NWF) and the affiliates by building strong affiliate organizations, developing leadership for both organizations, and creating strong "grasstops" networks to achieve national and regional conservation victories. He/she will also be responsible for managing and facilitating programmatic partnerships with our affiliates and other like-minded organizations (LMO) where and when appropriate, building productive and effective relationships and campaigns, which includes strategic partnerships with other LMO's, as well as serving as staff liaison with NWF board members. The principal challenges will be building productive, long-term relationships in the field and leveraging those relationships effectively to achieve conservation successes on the ground. The Regional Representative must demonstrate the ability to work strategically and as a team player with both NWF staff, affiliate leaders and other organizations, as well as understand and be able to help effectively implement conservation advocacy campaigns. The successful Pacific Region Regional Representative must: Develop relationships with affiliates, like-minded organizations, NWF members and supporters in order to build teamwork and maximize opportunities for conservation achievements. Develop a network of these organizations and individuals upon which NWF can draw for support and assistance; Help affiliates that are in need of organizational and program assistance to perform at a level that will provide greater impacts on conservation. Identify opportunities for collaboration with affiliates and LMOs on projects of mutual interest and commitment, and develop strategies for success on these projects; Encourage and assist the gender and ethnic diversification of affiliate and other LMOs with whom we partner; Identify opportunities for participation by new leaders on the local and regional level within the NWF affiliate ranks.

| Position Requirements | |
| Qualified candidates must have a college degree, preference given to those with training and/or experience in organization capacity-building and management of nonprofit organizations, grassroots organizing, grassroots lobbying with a focus on natural resources, environmental conservation and/or sportsmen's issues. Must have at least five years of relevant experience in two or more of the following: Conservation Advocacy; Volunteer and Leadership Development; Public Presentations; Lobbying for state, local or federal legislation; Nonprofit Organizational Development; Grassroots Organizing; Board Development; and Fundraising. The Regional Representative must possess exceptional communication and people skills to build and maintain the kind of high level relationships needed to succeed at this job. They must have the ability to understand & successfully handle sensitive situations & people, be able to perceive & leverage group dynamics & political undercurrents. The RR must have or quickly develop a deep understanding of the NWF-affiliate relationship as it relates to NWF's strategic plan and be able to articulate NWF policy at the national, regional and local level, which includes understanding the internal workings and staffing of NWF.
