Overview

We are looking for a Biopharmaceutical Business Development Manager to join our Americas Commercial marketing team to support a very successful growth of our biopharma business and to unlock the potential of new expanding market areas including oligonucleotide therapeutics, protein therapeutics, and emerging vaccines modalities.

As a Biopharmaceutical Business Development Manager manager, you will be responsible for expanding the biopharmaceutical business, with a particular focus in the protein, oligonucleotide and new modalities spaces. You will study the market trend and closely partner with our customers to understanding their challenges and work with Waters SEM to develop application and solutions to address customer needs and craft focused marketing messages. A collaboration with the field sales team will be a must for planning and execution of awareness and lead generation activities, supporting competitive sales situation, and gathering competitive intelligence to create field usable differentiated value proposition.

An exemplary communicator with a creative approach will craft and deliver resonant go-to-market campaigns to create awareness of Waters' solutions, generate demand and build the sales funnel. Through support and enablement of the sales organizations you will ensure high rates of opportunity conversion and revenue growth. You will strive to create not only new customer relationships but true customer advocacy.

This role will be fully remote with 35% travel with a particular focus on attending relevant scientific meetings, marketing events, internal training, and pre-sales support.

This position will be based in the US-Remote. Physical location near a major airport is prefered.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities:

    Based on global corporate guidelines, define and implement Americas marketing campaigns and tactical plans that accelerate revenue generation based on sales goals and current business focus.
  • Drive demand generation campaigns that may include, but are not limited to industry events, webinars, email campaigns, digital marketing, account-based marketing and thought-leadership programs
  • Analyze the global and regional trends of the business and build effective strategies to increase Waters' growth of the biopharmaceutical business in Americas.
  • Demonstrate leadership in coordinating the activities of local business development managers and support specialists with no direct reporting line. Ensure cross-functional program definition and execution with local teams.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our customers' needs and expectations and report back to the organization
  • Deliver regional Annual Operating Plan commitment and defined marketing contribution
  • Design, coordinate the organization and participate in Americas events
  • Attend relevant conferences to increase Waters' awareness, visibility and presence in the biopharma community
  • Support regional sales teams with technical training, positioning of solutions, and unlocking sales opportunities
Qualifications

Qualifications

What will make you a successful Field Marketing Manager at Waters:

  • Minimum bachelor degree in scientific study; Maters or PhD in a Life Science subject area preferred
  • Previous experience working in LC/MS or bio separations
  • 8+ years' experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry, preferably in a protein, oligonucleotide or gene therapy-related role.
  • Proven experience and success working in marketing, sales, business development or applications support
  • Strong written, editorial, and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Be self-starter and self-guided, possess a strong work ethic, open to learning, and perform well under deadlines
