Summary: The Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans and assigns work of subordinates.
  • Develops and/or adapts inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, makes suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
  • Analyzes facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.
  • Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.
  • Investigates and determines cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.
  • Keeps manager abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Maintains discipline, morale, and harmonious relations among subordinates.
  • Investigates and adjusts personnel problems within area of responsibility. Effectively recommends as to hiring, promotions, wage adjustments and terminations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three to five years supervisory experience in the Quality Assurance field.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP regulations, Food safety and audit procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Seafood industry experience preferred

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $28.00to $32.00.
