A Lead Wine Educator job in Woodinville, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This role is a representative and point of contact for the Wine Educators and liaison to the Tasting Room Leads to ensure delivery of exceptional guest experiences in our Tasting Room.

Lead Wine Educator job responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for daily opening and closing procedures to include cash handling in an accurate and responsible fashion.
  • Support daily operations/maintenance of the salon experiences.
  • Creates and maintains an inventory of Salon Experience and tour assets.
  • Collaborate with Wine Education team, as well as Tasting Room leadership, on new programming for Salon and other Experiences.
  • Work primarily in the Blend Room and Tasting Salons conducting tastings with our guests.
  • Partner with the tasting room leads to ensure coverage for salons and back-up retail as needed.
  • Conduct winery tours, tastings and events for guests (including VIP guests) of the winery as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
  • MAST Class 12 Permit and Food Handlers card required. Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, CWE certification a plus.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience required (retail/hospitality preferred) with at least 2 years training/education experience in the alcohol beverage industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to speak comfortably and audibly in front of groups.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills required with knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Must be flexible and available to work varied hours.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk for extended periods of time.

Your Compensation:

$18.72 - $26.89 per hour based upon relevant experience.
