Pay Rate: $118,723 - $195,268


Accounting Manager / Senior Accounting Manager, General Ledger


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Accounting Manager to join our finance team. In this role, you will oversee our accounting operations, lead a team of accountants, and ensure our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise accounting department employees, responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing and/or posting journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Lead collaboration with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report.
  • Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.
  • Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns supporting tax team as needed.
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.
  • Work with office managers on development of annual budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or similar certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting, with at least 7 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent leadership skills with a dedication to the team's development.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with accounting software system implementation a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of Deltek Vision and Vantagepoint a plus.
