Reports to: Director of IT
Works with: IT Staff, Business Unit Staff, Vendors, Consultants
Location: Kent, WA | Onsite
Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday

Type: Exempt

Role Overview

The Network Systems Administrator is a critical role for the organization. This role is responsible for managing the network, infrastructure, and cloud environments used by the business. They will oversee the security and performance of systems, ensuring they perform optimally to meet business needs.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Your Team: You will be a part of a collaborative team of (4) focusing on Hytek's strategic and tactical planning for systems growth over the next year as the main lead for planning, configuring, and maintaining our core infrastructure, cloud environments, and supporting growth in cybersecurity measurements.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 *dependent upon years of experience, highest level education, certifications and total competencies across all core areas of need: (Windows Server, AD, Virtualization/Cloud Technologies (VMware/Azure/InTune, M365), LAN, WAN, VPNs, SSL Cert, M365, Firewalls, Switches, Routers. etc.

Primary Duties
  • Design, configure, deploy, and administer network infrastructure components - LAN, WAN, VLANs, VPNs, Active Directory, VMWare, DNS, cryptography (SSL, certificates).
  • Build, configure, and administer environment including domain controllers, file, print, application, database servers, M365, and Azure.
  • Manage and maintain security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's managed security services provider.
  • Monitor network and server performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency), diagnose, and resolve issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience in the IT field supporting end users and systems in a 24/7 business environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including firewalls, routers, switches, virtualization technologies (VMWare), and backup devices.
  • Strong knowledge of local, wide area, and wireless network administration including VLAN's and VPN's.
  • Experience with on premise Microsoft technologies - Active Directory, DNS, DFS, Group Policy - and cloud technologies - Azure, InTune, M365.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license is required for non-US persons.

Education/Previous Experience
  • 4 Year IT degree, CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent experience.
Essential Mental/Physical Demands

Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. Able to stand and sit for long periods of time as needed. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. May need to use a hand truck to move equipment. Extensive use of hands in writing, use of computer and other office equipment. Walking throughout the facility. Use of safety equipment when necessary (goggles, boots, gloves and aprons). Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, safety glasses and hearing protection is needed in some areas of the facility.
