Development Directors are our drivers, listening and working with our talented development team to find creative and collaborative solutions to meet our shared objectives. Development Directors work daily leading a team, collaborating with multidisciplinary team-members to define goals, align and agree on the priorities and help put structure and process in place to support the team.

Making games is unpredictable, and we're all in it together. Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful, and diverse team as our External Development Director responsible for working with the team to understand development needs and help to identify partners and solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact and the owner of the relationship between Cliffhanger Games and its external development partners.
  • You will understand development needs and work alongside the game teams, suggesting suitable vendors, availability, and capacity to meet our evolving production challenges.
  • Build long-term relationships through clear communication and trust, ensuring engagements are positive experience for all involved.
  • Develop, adapt, and improve external development pipelines and processes. Ensuring that both the organization and work output meet the standards being set by the game team.
  • Collaborate with a range of internal teams including Finance, Legal and Security to evaluate potential external development partners and onboard them.
  • Facilitate the development team working with external teams ensuring that both sides are getting what they need to be successful with the engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven skills managing art and content creation services and working for hire contracts and engagements with external development studios.
  • Experience managing diverse teams and a variety of development efforts across different time zones and locations.
  • Negotiation experience and demonstrated business maturity.
  • Problem solver that can identify both short term mitigation and propose options for longer term resolution.
  • Team player with the ability to influence stakeholders positively and constructively.
  • Ability to work independently, handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively.
  • Oral and written communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


BASE SALARY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
$140,700 - $204,700 USD Annually
* New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
$125,300 - $204,700 USD Annually
* Jersey City, NJ :
$164,800 - $204,700 USD Annually
* Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
$131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
$125,300 - $198,100 USD Annually
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
$115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
